The black alder marshland trail, a raised wooden walkway, is one of the shortest trails in the Kemeri National Park (600 m). You will see a collection of accordions, harmonicas, zithers, mandolins and other ancient musical instruments as well as an insight into the process of manufacturing new musical instruments at Gunars Igaunis’ Ancient Musical Instrument Workshop. You will also hear stories about “the previous life” of the collected musical instruments and their playing traditions. MiniZoo Dobuli offers a varied, interesting and annually increasing collection of wild animals, domestic animals and birds from various countries. While walking along the pond, you can observe the exotic water birds (Egyptian geese and Chicken geese, black and white swans, emerald ducks, mandarin ducks) and swamp beaver. At the Vijciems Cone Dryer, seeds are produced by hundred year old methods, and the equipment has been preserved since its opening in 1895. Visitors are welcome not only to climb the steep stairs, but also to try to pull up bags of cones through the hatch on the third floor. They can look in all the nooks and crannies of the dryer and at the same time turn the large cylinders, in which the cones are dried, and listen how they crack and crumble. Finally, visitors can hold the small seeds and feel the smell of resin.
